The MHA Board has recently reviewed its future strategy and will soon be publishing its new Strategic Plan. The Plan will be based around the following:

Outcome

  • Independent – Regain G1 status whilst maintain V1 rating

How will we do it?

– Create additional financial capacity
– Become an exemplar of good governance
– Protect the legacy & history of MHA

Outcome

  • Voice of BME – Building & Championing

How will we do it?

– Building the argument around BME housing to get LA and government support especially for South Asian residents of Bradford
– Analysing exiting research and data to support the argument
– Developing our “ask” in terms of support from other RSLs and community groups

Outcome

• Customer Service

How will we do it?

– Ensuring our customers get a “hassle free” housing service
– Continue to be a high performing landlord
– Ensure we have the highest standards of H&S compliance
– Assist our customers to sustain their tenancies even with the multiple layers of impact of Welfare Reform

Outcome

• Ensure the provision of more homes for the South Asian residents of Bradford are provided

How will we do it?

– Partnerships with others
– Managing stock for others and carry more risks e.g. carry all void loss
– Persuade others to build for this community
– Create financial capacity for MHA to develop (medium to long term aim)

• Community Investment

How will we do it?

– Develop a Community investment strategy that concentrates on Jobs for BME households (especially our residents)
– Creates local employment opportunities ourselves and through partnerships with others
– Use our skills to assist other RSLs and businesses to employ more BME candidates.
