Helpline setup for the vulnerable of Bradford

On Monday 23rd March, a helpline was launched to support members of the Bradford community, who may be in self-isolation, or struggling to access the services they need, due to the current lockdown measures. The Muslim Women’s Council, in conjunction with MyLahore and Islamic Relief will provide emergency food parcels, signposting to relevant services and updates and advice on the Coronavirus situation in a range of languages, as well as emotional and wellbeing support.

Further to this, food provisions will continue to be provided as part of the Curry Circle, which has been held at the Carlisle Business Centre every Thursday from 6pm to 8pm since December 2013, but will now be a hot meal takeaway service, at the same times.

Bana Gora, CEO of Muslim Women’s Council says “This is an uncertain time, however it is imperative that we be brave enough to stay calm, act rationally and follow the advice.”
