Khalida Ashrafi

Khalida’s work focuses on raising the profile of and making a positive difference to BME communities, and Khalida is currently ‘cultural advisor’ to the scriptwriting team of the channel 4 drama series Ackley Bridge.  She is also about to launch a piece of research on ‘Hijab and Hate crime’ in Bradford for the Muslim Women’s Council.

Khalida has 15 years’ experience developing and delivering bilingual training on sensitive subject areas that include sexual and mental health.  She has also worked with TAG (Together Against Grooming) and is currently developing a parenting programme to deliver to Muslim parents to assist them in dealing with challenging situations.

Khalida also presents for ‘Radio Asian Fever’ and is a keen writer having penned 2 children’s tales. Khalida previously worked as a Policy Manager for the EHRC (Equality and Human Rights Commission) in Leeds for 11 years.
